Prof. Casas is Assistant Professor at the University of St.Gallen specializing in International Business, Asia and Top Teams. He imparts courses in a variety of areas including Doing Business in China, China’s Political Economy, and China Invents the Future: The Culture of Entrepreneurship, Technology and Social Networks (this latter one in conjunction with the Chair of Chinese Culture and Society); he has also taught entrepreneurship, corporate governance and philosophy of science. Prof. Casas is a visiting professor at various Chinese universities and at the Moscow School of Business SKOLKOVO. His China executive education engagements take place with executives and entrepreneurs at leading institutions around the globe. He has a unique global perspective, being equally at home in the West as in the East and with emerging and advanced economies. Thus his perspectives on China, are relevant for Europeans and Americans as well as for executives from Russia, India, Japan or Latin America. Areas of research on China include Chinese Top Teams, Chinese innovation and business models, the 'Chinese variety of capitalism', the role of the State and the links between Chinese culture(s) and management practice, as well as Chinese overseas investment patterns. In parallel to his scholarship, Prof. Casas might be considered an “academic entrepreneur” as he has partnered with Chinese entrepreneurs and launched multiple ventures. His China courses never fail to draw from his hand-on, in-the-trenches business experience.
