The India Competence Centre at the University of St.Gallen advances the understanding of doing business in India and with Indian companies in a global context.

The India Competence Centre at the University of St.Gallen has been established by Prof. Dr. Winfried Ruigrok and is currently managed by Prof. Dr. Roger Moser who spent several years at IIM Bangalore and has realized dozens of research and practice projects in India.

The India Competence Centre puts its research focus on the development of innovative business models and the analysis of advanced technologies to improve the infrastructure in India – especially in semi-urban and rural areas. In the past, the India Competence Centre has been involved in the development and testing of water purification and distribution centers in Udaipur, the development of affordable healthcare solutions, mobility sharing and other access-based business models to improve the affordability and accessibility of different infrastructure solutions as well as the analysis of satellite and other advanced technologies to improve the financial inclusion of small-hold farmers in India.

At the University of St.Gallen, the India Competence Centre offers several courses for bachelor and master students to better understand the Indian business context and Indian management concepts. It is also engaged in executive education programs and integrates different researchers in Europe and India as part of its research activities.
