High-performance teams are a centrepiece of modern organisations. Their structure and advantages are illustrated by the St. Gallen Top TeamTM model:
Today’s world and the need for high-performance teams
The contemporary business environment is in a constant state of change. While levels of competition, technological advancements, and workforce specialisation have been rising for decades, recent global developments such as the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical instabilities amplify this trend. Considering that businesses want to be or remain successful, they constantly need to adapt to these challenges and their consequences, which we illustrate in our Triple Shift Model.

Cross-disciplinary collaboration is a key enabler for learning, which ultimately fuels innovation and change within organisations. As such, sustainable, high-performance teams play an essential role today as they allow firms to address the consequences of shifts in the market by overcoming the limits of individual problem-solving capacities.
